   naval officer, aviator, inventor
   Born in Lorient, Yves Le Prieur made the first official flight in the Far East (Tokyo, December 9, 1909) on a glider pulled by an automobile. Inventor of an indicator of air routes (navigraph), used for the first time in an air flight crossing the Sahara (1925), and of a process of cinematographic transparency setting (1928), he is above all known for having conceived the idea of the first practical and portable aqualung. Also, Le Prieur developed an automatic regulator that was adopted by the French navy in 1935.
